My Weekly Blog is designed to teach the secret behind cShashona’s 5 Essences for Harmonious Living.

Favorite Place to Stay in The Hamptons:
There’s no better place than the Hamptons in the summer! While there are many fabulous places to stay in the South Fork, I created a private sanctuary for me and my family at my beautiful year-round seaside estate in East Hampton, which I named Maison du Soleil.  I spent a number of years designing the space to complement the beauty of the sea, but also pay homage to the Earth by creating open lush gardens with flowers, trees, fresh vegetables and herbs, all of which I use regularly in my cooking and throughout my home. I like to add fresh cut flowers to my breakfast, lunch and dinner tables.

What are the sights and sounds that inspire you as an Artist?
I love the busy sidewalks of Main Street in each of the Hamptons. Celebrity sightings, high-end shopping and a cool elegant vibe to life – that Je Ne Sais Quoi –is what I appreciate the most when I’m not spending time at my home. But I also keep it simple – it’s the beach living after all! —and I take advantage of all the fresh produce and artisanal fruit pies sold at the local farm stands, which dot each of the town’s highways. You can find the best corn, tomatoes and sumptuous fruit. I like to spend time when I’m shopping talking to the local farmers and learn new recipes and what crops they’ll have throughout the season. Using my time to educate myself in this way enables me to prepare great menus throughout the season. It’s easy to eat healthy when you’re surrounded by so much fresh food and salty sea air.

There are many great hot spots, but here are some of my favorites: In #southhampton, @santambroeus. There’s nothing like an elegant lunch at this traditional Milanese restaurant, especially after a day of shopping and antiquing in town. This is definitely where the in-crowd hangs out, and it has a great European flair.  The best in couture shopping can be found on Main Street in #westhampton @jimmysny. This subtle but high-end boutique is where you’ll find the best in runway dressing that’s ahead of trend to keep you stylish for those summer nights. While #easthampton boasts great restaurants and bars, the best place to spend the day is at #mainbeach. There are miles of pristine white sandy beaches to walk, and if you’re lucky you can catch a mogul or two making the latest tech deal.

The Hamptons also has a great Art, Film and Theater scene. You can get in touch with your bohemian spirit by going to different art gallery openings, film premiers and even visit the different open-air art fairs in each town, which sell handcrafts and paintings by local artists. It’s these little gems you find that make a home A Home.

As an artist, my life in East Hampton inspired my Free Spirit Black Diamond jewelry collection, which combines both elegance and confidence. It’s the perfect jewel accessory reminding you to treat your body as the most glamorous necklace you own.

One of my favorite pieces, inspired by time in Saint Tropez, is my handcrafted Splendide cor de Marseille Necklace – reminiscent of Marseille with beauty and shimmering tiers of Black Diamonds and Emeralds cascading—inspiring the wearer to embrace life, beauty and protection. The anodized chain is designed with a diamond closure and signature logo. This is perfect for day or night and can be worn with other extraordinary pieces from my collection. What did you learn from spending time with the locals?
I am a local! The philosophy I share is “Get out, Challenge Yourself Every Day, Learn Something New, to Live Inner Harmony.”

What’s your go-to signature look while living here?
Beach living means keeping it casual, but as a celebrity fashion stylist that means staying fresh and elegant with gorgeous bathing suits, handprinted European sarongs, light summer dresses and simple sandals. As I learned from traveling the French Riviera, I embrace wearing diamonds and other luxe jewelry when I’m at the beach and on the go. Night time is always a fabulous scene, and I amp it up with more cutting edge looks and stilettos.

Favorite Dish?
That’s easy: living by the sea means clam and lobster bakes with fresh bread, salad, buttered corn that I pick up at local farm stands.

Favorite Memory?
All my favorite memories in East Hampton are with my family. It’s our tradition to go down to the beach, build a bonfire, bond, sing songs, spend time together, and appreciate each other. We enjoy fresh lobster and clams and other summertime delicacies, which I prepare using the fresh herbs and vegetables from my gardens.
