Lunar Year Fashion

c Shashona The Yin Yang of Fashion

People often consult Chinese Astrology to see what’s in their stars for the coming month. As a Designer and Feng Shui Grand Master, I use the Chinese Zodiac to help create a wardrobe that reflects my client’s own style. I don’t believe in passing trends. I believe in honoring the Individual with empowerment and serenity.

Sharing my Feng Shui Compass given to me by Master Leong when i was ordained in Hong Kong to become a Grand Feng Shui Master.

This is the foundation of what I call, the 5 Essences for Inner Harmony, Philosophy. My approach may seem unconventional, but it’s actually extremely effective. The reason it works is because it enables me to understand a client’s needs and desires by consulting their Eastern Astrological chart, which is based on the 12 Animal types.

If you want to embody a style and color palette that’s all your own, my 5 Essences for Inner Harmony will get you started on your path to Fashionable Self-Discovery. Use my Astro Fashion calendar in highlights to find your animal type and essence, then mix and match styles and colors to connect your energy every day, for any occasion, ambition, or desire.

Blessings,
Grand Master c Shashona

Rat

Prosperity & Joy.

Rats get a bad rap, but those born under this sign are known to be humorous, honest, and meticulous. However, the Rat may also be power-and-money hungry. The Rat personality does best in red, green, and charcoal to encourage prosperity. Choose greens from sage green to forest green, with vibrant touches of red or burgundy to uplift energy. Wear shades of gray when needing to feel nurtured.

OX

Financial success. Will have opportunity to grow or change careers.

People born Year of the Ox are tenacious, hardworking, and blessed with a quick mind. But the Ox personality must also be careful because they accomplish less for all the energy they expend. To achieve maximum results, the Ox personality does best in shades of yellow, blue, and different hues of white. The energy of red, combined with a terra-cotta palette, creates earth colors to soothe such a hardworking sign (and create enough energy to feed an active mind). When lightened, this color palette can be used as peach, apricot, even a soft peachy pink. These tones encourage relaxation. To attract romance, topaz, nutmeg and curry, with touches of red are a great way for the Ox to spice things up.

TIGER

Strong and independent – you must learn to compromise with others.

We know Tigers to be strong, dominant leaders in the wild. The same holds true for people born Year of the Tiger, who also have a reputation for being fierce protectors. The Tiger personality needs big, bold prints and patterns, and soothing colors to relax as they tend to be restless at night. The best colors for the Tiger are yellow, black and red. Yellow is associated with creative energy, making it an ideal color, especially when combined with neutral background patterns. Use pale yellow with golden brown, ginger and copper as well as colors that have an “internal flame”. Black is used to protect, while the color red is used to fire things up.

RabbIt

Great year for seeking out new friends and partnerships.

Quick, agile, smart and very sociable, Rabbit personalities are always “hopping” around. Blue, pink, and green are great for Rabbits, who thrive in an atmosphere of vibrant tones. Softer violet shades, such as lilac, bring out the romantic side of the Rabbit personality; and when mixed with the deeper plum tones of violet to aubergine, their elegance and sensuality shines. To stay balanced, purple tones should be blended with a lot of white in various tones and textures.

The orange to brown palette works well for the Dog, with muted earth tones with touches of yellow (for stimulation) and blues (to cool the Bark!). PIG

Set priorities – realize them and success is coming, rest assured.

People born Year of the Pig are complex. On one hand, they’re sensitive and caring; on the other hand, they can bawdy and earthy, with a tendency to do things in excess. Colors that work best for this personality are pink, red, and yellow. The sensitive and caring Pig likes pastels and rose shades, which are great for attracting romance. Yellow and plum create rich and subtle tones for work. An abundance of sunshine yellows and a warm palette can be effective for power dressing. The Pig is attracted to spicy colors, so use saffron and red floral prints surrounded by lots of white accents to spark new friendships or relationships.

Will see accomplishment.

Intelligent and artistic, the Ram is known to do well in business, which can result in wealth and success. Although the Ram personality is good natured, he or she can also be undisciplined. To stay balanced, wear shades of red, violet, and green. The color of sunshine is an energizing and vibrant color for the Ram when complimented with gray, Charleston green and black-green. Soft yellow, almost like wheat, combined with green accessories nurture the Ram. Avoid jolts of hot color when looking to relax because the Ram thrives in Nature’s atmosphere of natural serenity. Wear colors of amethyst to lift your spirit.

Dragon

This can be a challenging year.

Intuitive and artistic, the Dragon is known for its magical powers, which allow it to soar to amazing heights as well as the depths of the sea. But the Dragon personality can be stubborn, and hard to get close to. Red, purple, and yellow are the best colors for Dragons. When blended together, white, red, and purple create “Imperial Blue;” a vibrant color to stimulate the Dragon’s energy. Red-violet can be warm and inviting, while clear red can be stimulating and exciting, and should be used sparingly. Shades of red can be mixed with brown, blush rose, rose purple, and soft lilac.

Be charming to persuade others.

Called the “Little Dragon,” the Snake is a calm and understanding sign to which success and fame comes easily. The Snake personality can be alluring, but can also be fickle. The best colors for this sign are green, red, and blue. Red is an auspicious color, and it may be used with a broad stroke. Stimulating and inviting, red creates sensuality and provides the Snake with much-craved heat. Mixing red with white in all its tones stimulates romantic passion. Red with a touch of green turns to burgundy and with plum becomes aubergine—all of which are perfect colors for the workplace. This same palette is elegant in formal attire or by a warm fire.

Horse

A promising year ahead.

Charming and likeable, the Horse is hardworking with a sharp mind. As a result, the Horse personality may earn respect and wealth; but on the downside, they can be difficult, willful and obstinate in relationships, as well as brutally frank and tactless in business. To keep the Horse in balance, wear colors such as, green, red, and burgundy. When combined with black, green accentuates the positive side of this personality type. Burgundy and plum tones, accented with lacquer red, adds warmth and elegance and can stimulate passion. Yellow is worn to attract power.
